God Is in the Gears?
But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people...addressed them: "Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do...in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God." --Acts 5:34-39 (NIV)
This thing has gotten huge.
I never, in all my natural life, thought I would do anything to actually get the attention of people all over the world. Nothing good, anyway.
And while I used the above quote as introduction to this post, I only did it to illustrate what's going on. I'm certainly not putting myself in the same stature as the Apostles.
I didn't think in the beginning this was anything that would've attracted divine influence. But just like in Acts, when the new religion founded in the wake of Jesus' resurrection took hold, it's blown up so far and so fast, I've got to think God is in the gears somewhere.
After all, We became homeless right as we got our tax refund, which helped cushion the blow. We found a homeless program and quickly got into it when not many people knew it existed. I started a blog that was intended to keep local friends up to date and it's drawn worldwide attention, not to mention opportunities around here. And I'm exposed to good, caring Christians every evening, not the venal, cynical ones who judge and do other things that Jesus said not to do*.
Coincidence? I wonder...
It's not the burning bush or anything, but I thought such things only happened in the Bible. Or to people far more worthy than me**.
God seems to be in the gears with this thing.
I just hope I'm up to it. Frankly, I'm a little scared.

I realize you may have tried this already, but have you called your local 211? I looked up the # for Greensboro (I work for the 211 in my own community), it's 1-800-788-7232, or you can dial 211 from any land line. If you're not familiar with them, they keep a database of community information and resources to help put callers in touch with what's available in the community.
Also, I noticed your mention of depression, and it seems as though you've got to be having a hard time coping with so much stress. I wanted to give you a number to a crisis hotline, where you can call just to talk about what's been going on with you and how you can keep your coping skills up. It's not therapy, but it's a listening ear when you need one. the # is 1-800-437-0303.
